Nelson Jarrin is a husband, father, community leader, and lifelong Republican and a candidate for the Texas House of Representatives.

Nelson graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in economics and Nelson spent six years working for a nonprofit dedicated to improving mental health services in Texas.

He is now an attorney, a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School, magna cum laude. Nelson has served as the Legislative Director and General Counsel for Texas State Senator Charles Schwertner, M.D., where he helped guide the Senator's legislative agenda. Nelson also served as an attorney at the Texas Legislative Council, the nonpartisan state agency that supports the members of the Texas Legislature.

With more than a decade of experience in law and public policy Jarrin believes in keeping our economy strong and not living beyond our means. A strong advocate for education, he believes our children deserve a quality education. He plans to fight for teachers to ensure they have all the tools necessary to succeed. Jarrin doesn’t want our children to fall behind because of COVID and is focused on ensuring the pandemic doesn’t derail our children’s future.
